Lindsey is one of the top-ranked ballroom dance teachers in the United States and is certified to teach all styles of ballroom dance. She has competed professionally as well as with amateur partners in competitions in all regions of the United States with students consistently winning Top Student awards. She also is one of the rare, recurring lady winners of Top Teacher prizes at almost every competition she attends.

She acquired Overstreet in October 2014 to continue to provide social and competitive dance lessons to students, as well as to provide a venue for other independent dance instructors to teach their own students.

She began her professional dance career in Minnesota with the local Fred Astaire Dance School. She instantly rose to the top of her school and began winning many Fred Astaire sponsored competitions in the American Smooth division.

In 2006, Lindsey moved to Colorado and began teaching with one of the nation’s leading studios, Colorado Dancesport. She constantly works to improve her teaching skills and has also developed special techniques to teach dance skills to disabled persons. Lindsey is the Founder and President of the Freedom Through Dance Foundation and this studio will also be the home base for providing instruction to dance teachers from across the nation.

Terra has been dancing Swing for 8 years. She began teaching Country and line dancing and quickly became involved in West Coast Swing. She has won numerous awards on the West Coast Swing competition circuit and is sanctioned by the World Swing Dance Council. Terra is frequently traveling and competing Swing, and teaches West Coast Swing at Overstreet Dance Center with her partner Michael Miller and at the Rocky Mountain Swing Dance Club upon request.  She is also the instructor for the Dancing With Friends program and is making a huge impact helping dancers with disabilities.


SONY DSCDesiree Reyes

Desiree was born and raised on the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico. She grew up dancing, surrounded by tropical rhythms. Sharing her knowledge of dance has been an integral part of her life since she moved to Colorado in 2005. She enjoys teaching all forms of social dance, and is a certified instructor in over twenty different dances in the Ballroom, Latin, Country Western and Swing styles. Her success as a teacher earned her a managerial position where she simultaneously taught at and operated a local dance studio for over four years. During this time she was awarded many Top Teacher and Top Manager honors. She loves to give people the ability to take part in and truly enjoy whatever form of dance they would like to learn. Her passion for her students and their dance ability is evident in all of her lessons. Throughout her years as an instructor she has had the experience of working with singles and couples from beginner to advanced dance skill levels. She has also had the opportunity to perform professionally at many events and local competitions in addition to choreographing numerous routines for students who compete. She particularly enjoys wedding couples and having the privilege to be part of their Big Day by meticulously helping them plan their first dance.

Nickolas Buchanan

Nick was born in Michigan and grew up listening to Polkas, Motown,Rock & Roll, Metal, R&B, Gangster Rap, and Hip Hop… He discovered Jazz and Blues one day while listening to NPR! Falling in love with the music, it was only a matter of time before he found all forms of Swing. Nickolas has been a student of American vernacular dances for 10 years and teaching for about 7. His passion extends to all the “Swing Era Dances.” Including but not limited to Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa, East Coast, Collegiate Shag, Solo Jazz, Blues, Fusion/Alt, and  tiny bit-o Hoofin”.

As a teacher Nickolas strives to make things attainable and fun for his students.

As a DJ Nick love playing themed sets and tries his best to stay true to the genre. But look out, he also likes to have a bit-o- fun with the music to challenge your rhythmical abilities. His current endeavors are exploring the world of Alternative and Fusion dance music with the goal of bringing some awesome new music right to your body.
